reda this part of the story and help me get some ideas as to how to finish it thanx again.
I walk towards the strange figure in the distance. I reach for it but my hand goes right through it. I step closer to it and I can feel its breath on my face. It wears a dark cloak and the hood of it covers it’s face. I reach to uncover its face when suddenly I am awoken by the sound of my mother’s voice.
“Amanda, get up we have church in an hour and I still have to do your hair.” Her voice trails down the hall way and then fades as I realize that it was all just a dream.
I turn to my nightstand and grab the mustard colored glasses that lay next to my school picture. I yawn and then fall back onto my pillow and close my eyes.
“I’ll just rest for one more minute,” I say to me self.
The figure reappears and takes several steps towards me. I notice that this time it doesn’t wear a cloak. It is just a black figure. The more steps I take, the farther it gets from me.
“Amanda Mari Sonin, are you still asleep?”
I jump up from my bed and then look at my clock. 7:45. I’ve been sleeping for 30 minutes. Which means mom isn’t gonna get to do my hair. I run to the closet and grab the first church dress that a see. I quickly put it on and then run down stairs.
“Hello, mom, wear are you?” I yell down the hallway. I look through the windows in my living room. Both cars are still there. I look in the dining room. The breakfast is still sitting on the table. I run up stairs to my little brother’s room. He’s not there. I run to my parents’ room. They’re not there. I jump down the stairs and now my heart is beginning to pound like knuckles against a door.
“Mom, Dad, Kyle!” I scream as I walk towards the door.
I pull it open and rush outside barefooted.
Suddenly my heart begins to calm down as I see my mom and dad talking to a neighbor and Kyle riding his bike around the yard.
“Amanda Mari, get some shoes on I don’t want you catching a cold.”
I smile.
“Yes Ma’am.” I say as I run back inside.
After many long minutes of my mom combing through my strawberry blond hair in the car on the way to church we finally arrived there. We said our prayers and gave thanks then we discussed the Monday potluck. We decided who would bring what and what activities we would have for the children.
People seem to laugh at me whenever I call them children but what they don’t understand is that I don’t consider my self a child. I’m 16, that means that in 2 more years I’ll be moving out and studying to be a nun. People seem to laugh at me when I say that as well. I just don’t understand these people.
Anyways, so then once we were done with our discussion we went on to church choir practice. I’m the number 1 singer in the choir.
Then we went on to talk about what we had done that week and then we did some more praying and then we went home.
As soon as I got home I made a few calls to the other student council member and asked them who was bringing what for Wednesday’s bake sale. I am the student council president, for the 3rd time. I was the first freshman to be class president. Now I’m a junior, which means I only have 1 more year. Yippee!
Well now we’re at home and I’m in my room. I’m wearing my robe with my pajamas on under it. I have my towel on my head and I’m taking off my necklace with a cross on it right now. I guess I better go to sleep good night.
At school I’m like the geeky role model for everyone, even the teachers are jealous of me. I’ve gotten straight A’s ever sense kindergarten and I’ve always been a good writer.
Last summer my mother suggested that I get a diary and I was sorry to inform her that my writing skills are much too advanced for a diary. Then this year my mother suggested that I write a book about my life as it goes on. I agreed that that would fill some of my time so I didn’t do stuff like alphabetize my bookcase or label my pencils.
The only other person in this world that understands this planet as I do is my best friend, Keke Young. She is a total history geek and she understands my methods of imperialisms better than anybody else.
Anyways, today Keke and I went and volunteered down at the local animal shelter. It’s like a tradition of ours. Every Monday after school we find a place to volunteer for the day. We call it V Monday. The V stands for volunteer.
After we were down volunteering we went to the store to get supplies for our next English project. Which isn’t due for another 5 months but you know that would give us more time to do other stuff like work on homework.
Well other than hanging out with Keke I also took Albert to the vet. Albert is our dog. He’s half golden retriever half husky. I named him Albert after Albert Einstein. My mom thinks it’s weird that I think Albert is a pretty name for a dog but I mean she wanted to name him Lucky.
After I took Albert to his appointment I went down to the church and practice with the choir some more
Im going to pst some more later but wat i think I’m going to do is make it where amanda meets this group of bad people and starts doing a bunch of really bad thing.
until it was time for the potluck. My mom brought the pot roast and Keke’s mom brought the potato salad. I particularly liked what the Davis’ brought. Macaroni, which is like my favorite food in the world. Other than that nothing really happened today. I mean I guess you could say it was a good day just because I beat everyone in the sack race. Wow that couldn’t have sounded anymore like an 8 year old.
I really need to stop eating food before I go to bed, because I had that strange dream about that mysterious figure again. It’s kind of starting to scare me but what do I know, I’ll probably stop sleeping all together once I start on this project. Haha, that was suppose to be a joke you know cause once I start my project I’ll be up all night. Um… I’m going to stop talking now. Night!
As student council president, I take it upon myself to welcome every new student and give him or her the grand tour of the school. Today we got 5 new students, who seems very odd, but who am I to
almost scary but at the same time they looked inviting.
I followed them all day long and at times I would stare into Lena’s eyes and think about anything in the world. They seemed to be all right kids, but something still puzzled me about Lena. I asked Lars what was wrong with her eyes.
“She’s blind, well half way blind. It comes and goes depending on her mood. When she’s scared or mad or sad, she can’t see at all, but when she’s happy or excited, she can see 20 20.” He stood in front of me for a while waiting for my response and once he realized that he wasn’t getting one, he walked away.
I took what he said as a joke. No one can be blind one minute and have 20 20 vision the next. It was impossible.
I finally left them be after they’d found their 4th period teacher and gotten settled in to their new environment.
The whole rest of the day I tried to focus on school but I kept wondering about Lena’s eyes. They were blue but at times gray.
judge people.
We started off with their lockers, then the classrooms, then I showed them which bathrooms to use when coming out of what classes, and last but not least I showed them the cafeteria, library, and gym.
They seemed to stay quiet the whole time. Their names were Luke, Lenny, Lena, Lindsey, and Lars. Luke had thick black hair with a blue streak down the middle of his head. Lenny had blood red hair and wore a spiked collar necklace. Lindsey had bleach blond hair with green, yellow, and blue extensions coming out the bottom of it. Lars had spiked hair and he had a lip ring, which I told him was not aloud in school but he just growled at me. Then there was Lena, and she was the one that puzzled me so. She had brown hair that went down to her feet and she wore it up in a huge pony. She did not wear any black, gray, or brown colored clothing and she had no piercings what so ever on her body. The only thing about her that looked frightening at all was her eyes. They looked
I found it hard to imagine that I didn’t instantly realize that what that meant was she was blind. I’m usually very good at stuff like that. I mean just the other day I told mom that Albert needed to be sent to a doctor because he had a broken leg, but she didn’t believe me and sure as the lord himself, when dad took him in for his shots the doctor informed us that his leg was broken in 2 places.
I just wish I could figure out what bothered me so about Lena’s eyes. They looked as normal as any other blind person’s, But there was something more, something special about the way her eyes look and when something bothers me like that, I tend to not rest until I fix it. I may not have been able to fix the fact that Lena was blind but I could figure out what it was about her being blind that bothered me so. Oh, well now I’m repeating myself, so I better stop and go to bed before I write a novel.
Today was really weird. Lena came up to me in the hallway and asked me if I wanted to eat
lunch with her and of course I thought she was just like all the other students that wish they were me and wish they had as much smarts as me so I said yes.
this is all i got so far. u can really tell that somethings abou to happen
