How do I find out the solution, what is the answer? Pls include steps and explanations?

I sent some items of antique furniture to Chrisby’s to be auctioned. Chrisby’s estimate of what each item would sell for is shown below:

Mahogany Table: 0 – 750
Grandfather Clock: 00 – 1600
Writing Cabinet: 0 – 500
bookcase: 0 – 350

In the sale itself, the writing cabinet was a disappointment, selling for only 0, but the mahogany table sold for 0, the bookcase made 0, and the grandfather clock exceeded all expectations at $ 2200. How much more did my furniture sell for altogether than Chrisby’s minimum total estimate?
A 0
B 0
C 0
D 0
E 0

  1. questioner says:

Chrisby’s minimum estimate should be tallied using the low end of their values. So, for the items, the minimum values are listed below:

    Mahogany table: $ 600
    Grandfather clock: $1400
    Writing cabinet: $ 400
    Bookcase: $ 250
    TOTAL: $ 2650
This is the minimum total estimate

The price at which the items sold for is listed below:
    Mahogany Table: $ 700
    Writing cabinet: $ 320
    Grandfather clock:$2200
    Bookcase: $ 280
    TOTAL: $3500

    So the difference in price is $3500 – $2650 = $850.

Answer choice D fits, so that is the right answer.
